ABOUT ME

I’m Michaela—your guide to a life transformed through wellness, sobriety, and joy. As the host of the Health with Michaela Podcast and 2 Sober Girls Podcast, I’m passionate about sharing practical wisdom and inspiration that helps you thrive. My journey is rooted in a deep commitment to health and beauty, and a love for helping others find balance and fulfillment in their lives.

My personal transformation began when I first practiced yoga in my early twenties. The profound mind-body connection I experienced inspired me to become a certified yoga teacher at 24. I overcame negative eating patterns, anxiety, and depression through natural methods, which led me to become a Health Coach in 2015 through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. My journey continued with a significant change on February 14, 2022, when I chose to embrace sobriety after years of heavy drinking and partying. This decision marked the start of deeper spiritual work and inner healing, and I’m dedicated to helping others through this process as well.

I work with women who feel overwhelmed and who don’t know where to start when it comes to getting their life and health on track. I support them to live healthy and feel whole via some of my favorite tools – planning, having solid routines and creating a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits their unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals – all in a practical way.

I am a health and lifestyle coach, but first I am a human. I still have limiting beliefs, I get upset, and frustrated at times. The difference is that I now have coping skills on how to deal with those thoughts and feelings. I can observe it and redirect it. I don't coach from the top of the mountain where I have it all together all the time. I coach from the trenches with and alongside you. 

As your coach I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness.  It simply means we will look at how all areas of your life are connected, because health extends far beyond the foods that fill our plate.  Does stress at work or at home cause you to overeat?  Maybe you don't get enough sleep, so you don't have the energy to work out.  Together we will look how all these areas work together, and how we can create more harmony.  As your health coach, we will not only look into your eating and exercise habits, we will also look into your self-talk, mindset, self-image, relationships, home, and work.  All these areas impact your health!!

I received my nutrition and coaching training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I studied diverse dietary theories and lifestyle coaching methods with some of the world’s leading health experts. With this knowledge, I co-create personalized action plans tailored to your goals, moving you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique context.

FUN FACTS

A little about me:
I was born and raised in Slovakia.  I competed in Ballroom and Latin dance since I was 6 until 11.  My family moved to the US when I was 12.  I didn't know 1 word in English!!

My nutrition:
I don't label my eating habits, because they shift - you don't have to either! I didn't eat meat for 16 years and I started to incorporate good quality meat. I eat mostly whole foods. I eat intuitively (after many years of dieting/restricting. I also focus on my primary foods - feeding my life with healthy relationships, career I love, physical exercise and spirituality.  I teach this to all of my clients and it helps with reducing stress around food.

I love to travel:
Some of my fav places I have visited are Thailand, Sri Lanka, Barcelona, Ibiza, Cyprus, Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Germany, Paris, Turks & Caicos, LA, Vegas, Florida, NY, NJ + Slovakia of course!! I visit Europe 1-2 per year and Australia is on my list to visit with my daughter.

  • Studied acting in my early 20's and got to perform in many off broadway and community theaters.

  • I'm an extroverted introvert. I love alone time, it's how I recharge.

  • I'm a neat freak and love organization 

  • I'm very tech savvy- built this website and started my podcast and help others create a thriving digital business. 

  • I am great at manifesting. You are too!

  • I rarely listen to music in the car- it's usually an audio book or a podcast.
